Cranberry & Clove Cocktail
Updated: Oct 30, 2020
A balance of tart cranberry, the spice of ground cloves, and the earthy floral notes of gin and rosemary: the perfect sweater-weather cocktail.
While right now you may only see the occasional leaf turning yellow, the change of fall is in the air. And with that comes cooler weather, comfort food, and spiced everything. This cocktail provides a unique take on an autumn drink by being both refreshing and spiced. This recipe makes two cocktails, because one just isn't enough.

Cranberry & Clove Cocktail
Yield: 2 cocktails
Prep time: 5 minutes
Author: Kitchen Potatoes
Ingredients
· ¼ cup (2 oz.) sugar
· ¼ tsp ground clove
· ¼ cup (2 oz.) hot water
· ¼ cup (2 oz.) gin
· 1 cup (8 oz.) cranberry juice
· 1 cup (8 oz.) soda water
· 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
· ¼ cup (2 oz.) frozen cranberries
· 1 tray of ice cubes
Method
Combine hot water (to heat water I simply boil water in a kettle), ground clove, and sugar in a small bowl, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. This creates a clove simple syrup. Cover and set aside.
Fill two medium size glasses with ice. Place a sprig of rosemary and approximately 5 frozen cranberries to each glass.
Measure and add 2 tablespoons (1 oz.) of gin to each glass. Add 1 tablespoon (½ oz.) of the clove simple syrup to each glass and top each glass with ½ cup (4oz.) cranberry juice and ½ cup (4oz.) soda water.
Drink and enjoy!
